On a side note, guys on forums bandy around power numbers that are crazy. Most of the quotes, quite honestly are nonsesnse. You can set a “crazy” number on your controler, but if your a light rider, on smooth surface with a big rear cog (low gearing), these power settings will never be utilised.
Its a bit like haveing a very powerful car or motobike and trying go fast in a low gear (1st). Does the vehicle use that power? – No!
If the bike is bogged down in sand with a heavy rider, or the car is fully loaded with 5 big guys and full trunk, then yes it may need that power. But if you do put a high gear on your bike (small cog), then all this “real” power will be used. Our CEO is heavy (135Kg and a very experienced trail rider). He rides around the North Devon green lanes between 12K and 14Kw. Thats enough to shoot him up the trails at break neck speeds (litteraly he could break his neck). But he is using real power and the bike is ectremly fast. But also setting the pwoer at lower mode, does save energy and gives you more range. The fantastic Stark Varg has a 6.5Kw batteru, but running at 40 Kw, it empties the battery in under 7 minutes at constant full power. The reality, is litterally no -one rides a bike at that power for long.
The Ultra bee battery is 6.2Kw and we ride ours for 2+ hours at a time (over 50 miles on trail), and if we wanted to, we could swap it out and carry on riding – try that on a Varg! (ps, we couldnt afford a Varg outright, but buying the Ultra Bee first and then later the kit made a a lot more sense and parts are so easy to get with loads of UK sppport)
So when you buy this kit, knowing that it can burst to around 30kw, it really does , I mean its absolutly blistering.

The EBMX motor range has been specifically designed to surpass the performance of other motors in their classes.
In contrast to many of our competitors who utilise hall sensors, we have opted to incorporate encoder sensors in our motors. This decision stems from the fact that encoder sensors demonstrate greater stability under demanding riding conditions. While hall sensors rely on estimated rotor positions, encoder sensors consistently provide precise angle measurements of the rotor’s position. Hall sensors are typically employed for tracking motor position during start-up and up to approximately 2000 rpm, after which the motor operates in a “sensorless” manner. However, during intense riding situations such as wheel spinning and sudden deceleration combined with rapid throttle adjustments, hall sensors angle detection can result in substantial current spikes in the controller. This can pose significant issues for many controllers, leading to tripping and loss of throttle power, although this is less prevalent in the X-9000.
Encoder sensors, on the other hand, are capable of tracking motor position at all speeds and do so more frequently than hall sensors. As a result they can deliver a smoother more responsive and controllable powerband and they do not generate the same type of current spikes that often cause controller issues. Furthermore, they contribute to improved low-end torque control and overall motor response.
EBMX motor have been custom built and are finely tuned to work with the EBMX X-9000 controller. These motors will work with many other types of controllers, however they may require you to do your own custom tuning.

Although these cells are in wide use, and professionally manufactured in a purpose built factory; because of the power of the battery, we strongly recommend that precautions are taken. We do not recommend charging inside the family home and charging should be supervised. We take no responsibility for misuse. These batteries are thoroughly tested (full discharge and charge cycles at the manufacturing stage and also pre-delivery). These are not DIY or amateur built devices.
