BMS is 80A with higher nbursts, but this really is maximum. We fille dthe batteyr with state of the art Samsung 50S good for 30 Amps per cell. These cost a small fortune but are the very best avaialable power V range cell on the market (the mythical Molicell 50A is not availabe yet and twice the price).
We recommend the purchase of Alfatex velcro 30cm * 3cm (avaialabe on Ebay) for additional support.
The Samsung 50s is a premier 21700 high discharge high capacity cell. The battery 80Amp Nominal BMS. 20s 3P (60 cells) cells and designed for 5000w max motors (will burst higher and pure nickle welded contacts but this wil invalidate your warranty). Downtube type battery, designed to fit on down tube utilizing water bottle bolts. This battery is physically the biggest downt tube battery we do we, designed of high power bicycles conversions.
We do not recommend these batteries for power output above 80A (5000watts), these will handle all 80A or lower 72V applications but have been specifically built for the Bafang BBSHD and G510 Ultra drive and CYC Stealth motors with aftermarket powerfull controllers. They have Anderson connectors.
We can not find a LED battery indicator for 72v, so hence it does not work. This is a custom battery and does not utlise normal components.
Due ot the high power output, The discharge is through the rear of the case and uses Anderson XT 90 connector ( you can not put 80A though a normal down tube mounting pins)
Please ALSO note, these are genuine new cells and made up into complete battery specially to order for us at the factory. These are not “off your shelf” batteries that are found similar to by other vendors. We buy the same cases and there it stops – everything is bespoke to Electron Cycles Limited. We simply can’t just make a single battery to make it cost effective. We have to due to special requests, decided to make a very small 5 battery production run of this exceptional battery . Thanks to Paypal fees, shipping and taxes the markup is minimal! Not all down tubes are the same and some slight modification maybe necessary to the mounting plate of the battery. You tube has an abundance of “How To” videos.

Charging: First time charging is VERY important. Always connect the charger to the battery with the charger powered up from the mains. This will stop a “Connection Spark”. The battery needs a “Balance Charge” on first charge. Please charge as above. The charger will display two red lights (charging) after a long period of time (between 1 and 8 hrs – depending on state) the LED charger lights will display red and green. This indicates an initial charge is complete. However, as this is a new battery, not all cells within the battery are balanced (same state of charge as some were higher/lower than others to start with). This is because cells can arrive at the factory in different batches and may have slightly different charges due to time in storage). This is very common and normal. Now please leave the charger connected to the batteries for a further 12 hrs. This allows the internal balancing system (BMS) to balance out all the internal cells. The charge may turn on and off over this period of time. This “Balance charge does not need to be done every time and is recommended every 20+ charges. Leaving the charger plugged in working does not damage the batteries. The charger is designed to stop charging at a preset level and turn on again when this level drops.

Please note, Lithium batteries are considered hazardous and due care and attention should be taken. Although these cells are in wide use, and professionally manufactured in a purpose built factory; because of the power of the battery, we strongly recommend that precautions are taken. We do not recommend charging inside the family home and charging should be supervised. We take no responsibility for misuse. These batteries are thoroughly tested (full discharge and charge cycles at the manufacturing stage and also pre-delivery). These are not DIY or amateur built devices.
We reserve the right to slightly modify or change this product without notice. We wil depending on avaialibulty use either LG MJ1. But will not mix these cells.

Batteries should always be charged and stored in a safe fireproof place. While being used, the safety to others and others property must be considered and is the direct responsibility of the purchaser. Any harm to the purchaser or other third parties or property is not the responsibility of Electron Cycles or any person trading on or behalf of the business known as Electron Cycles and hold no responsibility either implied or otherwise for mechanical, electrical or other failure when using any products or any costs or damages resulting from these items purchased or otherwise obtained from Electron Cycles or any person trading on or behalf of the business known as Electron Cycles
